THE RESORT IN WINTER AND SUMMER:

Serre Chevalier is both a winter and summer resort. In the winter it offers 250km of pistes, cross country skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing and mountaineering.
If you fancy a day in another resort there’s a large choice; ski from France across the Eagle pass into Italy for a lovely lunch (Montgenèvre-Clavière), or why not try the famous resort of La Grave with a drop of 2050 metres all off-piste, all within a short drive from the Chez Bear.

In the summer there’s an abundance of activities: mountain biking, hiking, mountaineering, climbing, swimming, rafting, canoeing, fishing, etc.
Briançon is on the doorstep of the Ecrins National Park and the Queyras Regional Park, both offering numerous discoveries : fauna and flora, pathways, glaciers, mountain summits, history, heritage, etc...
The old town of Briançon is a "must visit" attraction with its small cobbled streets, fountains, the Collegiate church, the surrounding fortresses, etc...

• SERRE CHEVALIER (1200-2800m)
• One of the largest ski domaines in the world consisting of 250km of groomed slopes and resorts of Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve and Monêtier les Bains. A huge domaine that suits all tastes and levels, allowing groups with completely different preferences to literally ski next to each other.
• 45km of cross country skiing, 25km of marked trails for snowshoeing and walking.

• MONTGENEVRE (1860-2700m)
• Located at 1850 metres along the “Milky Way” or Via Lattea which includes the Italian Olympic resorts "to be" (Turin Winter Olympics 2006) Sestriere, Cesana, Sansicario, Sauze d’Oulx and Claviere. From Montgenèvre, which is one of the oldest ski resorts in France, you can even cross the border on cross country skis since the summer golf course has fine tracks in winter.
• 100km of pistes, 400km linked to the Milky Way (la Voie Lactée), 25 km of cross country skiing and 10km of trails for rambling.

• LA GRAVE - LA MEIJE (1500-3550m)
• A must as well as a Mecca for expert or extreme skiers. All off-piste, only one telecabine plus a couple of drag lifts that take you up to the glaciers of La Meije. More than 2000 metres vertical drop along with the impressive surroundings guarantees to take your breath away. A certified mountain guide is highly recommended to ski the glaciers safely.

• VARS AND RISOUL (1650-2750m)
• These are two smaller and modern Southern Alps resorts that together form the Domaine de la Forêt Blanche with 180km of slopes and as much as 1100 m vertical drop. Especially suitable for snowboarders since there are two snow parks with half-pipes, boardercross, etc.

• 65km of pistes.

• PUY SAINT VINCENT (1400-2700m)
• When it is windy everywhere head for this small and charming family resort. Protected not only from the wind but also great for lovers of “fresh powder", you get stunning views over “les Ecrins” with its 4000 metre peaks and glaciers.
